Why I am running...
Simply, because I believe I can make a difference. In these days of uncertainty, there are so many challenges facing our nation and state. There aren’t many easy answers to the questions people have concerning budget deficits, health care, and unemployment. Why would anyone want to go through a long, expensive campaign to land the governor’s job at a time when it is so difficult to govern? Simply, because I believe in Montana.
Right now, we have the opportunity to combine our abundant natural resources--agriculture, energy, and water - with our most important human resources-- productivity, work ethic, and vision-- to create a prosperous future for our state.
For this to happen, the best thing government can do is to make sure people are not tied down with excessive regulations and government bureaucracy. As your governor, I plan to apply CREATIVE COMMON SENSE to help us all get there.
